TV is a big space- and there’s a lot of options. Our starting point is always to understand your audience. Then we can advise where fits best- it can save you money and help hit your targets faster. Don’t jump right in to a campaign with anyone without getting some independent advice!

STV is big-hitting regional campaigns that allow you to cover large populations (or the whole of Scotland). They have a very strong programming schedule and STV works well with lots of audiences. But, you need to be aware that the regions are big- the West Region alone covers Oban to Stranraer on the west coast, so if you only sell to Hamilton…it’s maybe important to think about the delivery! Talk to us first and we can help you find the right audience and maybe save you some cash!

Sky is a different option for TV altogether- yes, you can still pick times and regions (linear) but they also offer a totally programmable Adsmart system. That literally means you might see a different ad to your next door neighbour during the same programme! Adsmart is highly localised and really affordable. Again, get some advice and we can help you get it right!

C4 also offers similar delivery to Sky and actually uses the Adsmart system. But they also offer interesting “lifestyle” packages around particular programming. It’s great for some and not so good for others. Getting a good understanding of the audience you are trying to reach is vital and then use what C4 offers to build your reach.

Everyone is different but a general rule is that a simple ad (either animation or simple live action) can take around 3-4 weeks including production and the legal process. But we can do it quicker if we need to!

When you’re making an ad for TV there’s 2 parts to consider. Firstly, your air time- the spaces we can buy from the broadcasters. With Sky this can start around £3-4k for 4 weeks in a particular area. With STV, ITV and Channel 4 there’s an entry level around £6-8k but that can grow quick quickly. Then there’s creative (the ad itself). That starts at around 3k and go to about 20k for a good, stylish Scottish Ad!
